In December of 2022, NEDA hosted a targeting workshop that allowed government to review and update the 2030 targets of key SDG indicators.

The Stakeholders’ Chamber on the SDGs discuss strengthening its role as a government partner in SDG implementation, expansion of its national membership, and establishment of regional chambers, in its 4th Quarter meeting.

The National Economic and Development Authority kicked off the SDG localization efforts at the subnational level in 2022 as part of the national strategy to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the country. 

For the year 2022, the Sub-Committee on the SDGs (SC-SDG) focused on ensuring that the SDGs are integrated into the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028.

In 2022, the Philippines produced its third VNR to report on the progress halfway into the SDGs but also to show how the country has endured the socioeconomic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A Stakeholders’ Chamber Pledge of Commitment Ceremony was held on April 7, 2022 to formalize the first institutionalized multi-stakeholder body for the SDGs in the country.

The Philippines and Morocco led the second meeting of the Group of Friends on the VNRs focusing on progress made and the strategies employed in the VNR process of the reporting members, in preparation for the 2022 HLPF in July. 

The PDP 2023-2028 is a plan for deep economic and social transformation to reinvigorate job creation and accelerate poverty reduction by steering the economy back on a high-growth path.

The attainment of the SDGs requires concerted, multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder efforts both at the national and local levels.
