For the year 2022, the Sub-Committee on the SDGs (SC-SDG) focused on ensuring that the SDGs are integrated into the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028. Two SC-SDG meetings were held in this regard. On May 12, 2022, the SC-SDG tackled the SDG activities for the year focusing on the updates from the PSA on Monitoring and Reporting of SDGs (2022 SDG Watch and Pace of Progress). This informed the NEDA SDG Secretariat of the direction on how to locate the SDGs in the Philippine Development Plan and on how to harmonize the SDG indicators with the PDP chapters’ indicators and strategies.

The second SC-SDGs meeting was then held on December 14, 2022, to present the results of the mainstreaming initiative. Overall, a total of 99 out of 155 indicators were adopted into the PDP.

The Subcommittee on the Sustainable Development Goals (SC-SDGs) serves as a body that supports and oversees the implementation of the SDGs in the Philippines. The SC-SDGs with NEDA as chair is comprised of various members across many national government agencies who monitor the implementation and the plans and being conducted for the realization of the SDGs. The body also interacts with the Congress and Senate in proposing projects and the corresponding budget for SDG-relevant policies. The product of the workshop is set to be finalized within 2023 with further inputs from other government agencies.
