26 October 2019, Quezon City, Philippines—UP-CIFAL Philippines conducted a workshop on sustainable development goals (SDGs) for 23 staff members of Quezon City Public Employment Service Office (QC PESO).

Christine Sanchez, project officer for SDGs of UP-CIFAL Philippines, introduced the 17 global goals and how they relate to the participants’ work, particularly SDG 8: decent work and economic growth.

For the workshop, the participants formed small groups and presented their existing or proposed projects, along with related SDGs, target stakeholders, and partner institutions. For instance, QC PESO’s Anti-Child Labor Program, which is being implemented with schools and nongovernment organisations, addresses SDG 3: good health and well-being as well as SDG 4: quality education.
