Special program for the Employment of Students (SPES)
The Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) of the DOLE-BLE is an employment bridging program during summer or Chrismas Vacation that aims to augment the family’s income of poor but deserving students, out-of-school youth (OSY) and dependents of displacedor would-be dispalced workers to continue and finish their education. While gaining experience and enhancing their capabilities as future members of the workforce, the program effectively hones the beneficiaries’ skills while molding their attitude and habits towards work in a positive manner.

Under the program, beneficiaries are paid for the services rendered for temporary employment, in partnership with the participating establishments, whether private or public. Their salaries or wages based on the minimum wage in the area or applicable hiring rate, are subsidized and paid by the government through the DOLE.
